Q1. What happens in the Counselling room?
As a counsellor I will examine the family relationship network, to understand any problem situations adequately to discover each family member’s perspective.

It is the obligation of the counsellor to facilitate what goes on in the therapy session regarding communication. I make sure each person gets a chance to view his or her concerns and expectations.

You will be able to openly ask me questions about how I work and what your expectations of counselling are.

Q2. Is counselling completely confidential?
As a trained counsellor I assure clients of their complete confidentiality in what is revealed in the counselling room. The only limitation of this confidentiality is when there may be an indication of child or spousal neglect or abuse or if someone is at risk of harm to themselves or others.
Q3. Is counselling for me?
Often people come to counselling as a last resort. The benefit of counselling is to improve communications skills, become aware of patterns of behaviour that are not working for you and work on areas that need agreeing upon. Counselling is an opportunity for you to voice your concerns in a safe and non-judgmental context, with respect to each other’s worldview.
Q4. What can I expect?
Counselling is not just about ‘talking’ it’s about taking action to create a healthy and well functioning family system.

We will create an action plan; define roles, rules and responsibilities within the family. We build on couple strength; solve issues of discipline, manners, visitations, the prior spouse, co-parenting and much more.

Q5. How much does it cost?
I will happy to discuss with you about my fees when we speak on the phone.
Q6. What type of counselling and therapies do you use?
My counselling is an integrated approach to understanding human functioning, suffering and finding solutions. We work on values, meaning and purpose in your lives with Mindfulness to bring our attention to the present moment and become aware of what is important to each person.
Q7. What can I hope to gain after working with you?
A more understanding and loving relationship with your spouse and those in your stepfamily as a result of learning the dynamics of stepfamilies.
